The Machestic Dragons was the first breast cancer survivor dragon boat
team in the state of New Jersey, and we are now in our 18th season. Our
team name is play on the word ‘majestic’ which means having impressive
beauty or dignity, but it also incorporates the origin of our cancer. We are a
floating support group of women from both New Jersey and Pennsylvania
who don’t just paddle together, we encourage each other, we learn
from one another, and most importantly, we laugh together. Our team’s
mission is to raise awareness of breast cancer and to show others who
are weakened by the struggle that there is life after this disease. We have
overcome fear, made true friends, and we are proud to call ourselves the
Machestic Dragons.
